▪ Editorial verdict

HYPR has built one of the most architecturally complete passwordless authentication platforms, using FIDO2 and public key cryptography to eliminate shared secrets entirely rather than layering an additional factor on top of an existing password. A system with no password and no shared secret cannot be phished the way even strong traditional MFA theoretically can. Strong enterprise deployment in financial services and healthcare validates this at regulated-industry scale, and FedRAMP authorisation reflects government-grade validation.

The honest reality is that a true passwordless transition is a larger organisational change project than simply adding MFA.

The verdict: right for enterprises ready to commit to a genuine passwordless transition. Organisations wanting to simply add MFA without a broader transition should evaluate Cisco Duo or Microsoft Entra MFA instead.

Strengths & limitations

Strengths

●The most architecturally complete passwordless implementation, using FIDO2 and public key cryptography to eliminate shared secrets entirely
●Strong enterprise credibility with major financial services and healthcare deployments at scale
●Genuine phishing immunity by design since there is no password or shared secret to phish

Watch out for

●Full passwordless transition requires meaningful organisational change management beyond simply adding a factor
●Legacy system coverage for the oldest infrastructure is less extensive than Silverfort's purpose-built approach
●No Gartner Magic Quadrant presence

Best for

Enterprises, particularly in financial services and healthcare, ready to commit to a genuine passwordless transition.
