For organisations already using Cloudflare for network and application security, the tight integration with Cloudflare's SASE platform and Zero Trust architecture creates a unified threat intelligence picture.

The depth of protection for sophisticated targeted threats, advanced malware sandboxing, and AI-native BEC detection are less mature than dedicated email security specialists. Area 1 is strongest as part of a Cloudflare SASE deployment rather than as a standalone email security product.

The verdict: Cloudflare Area 1 is right for organisations already using Cloudflare Zero Trust or SASE who want email security integrated into their existing Cloudflare stack with pre-delivery phishing prevention.
