Google Cloud Armor
Combined score
▪ Editorial verdict
Google Cloud Armor delivers the same zero-friction native cloud integration that AWS WAF and Azure Application Gateway WAF deliver for their platforms, enabled directly through the Cloud Console. Adaptive Protection, applying Google's own machine learning to automatically identify and mitigate Layer 7 DDoS patterns, reflects Google's underlying infrastructure expertise. The reCAPTCHA Enterprise integration gives it bot management context smaller vendors cannot easily replicate.
The honest limitation mirrors every hyperscaler-native WAF: value drops sharply outside the native cloud platform.
The verdict: right for organisations running workloads on Google Cloud wanting native WAF integration. Multi-cloud organisations should evaluate Cloudflare WAF or Imperva WAF instead.
